If you have ever went to a rock concert and been stopped in your boots by how easily it seemed by the guitarist playing those guitar solos? How on earth do they do this? Are they freaks of nature? Or from another planet way far away?

If you are a "newbie" guitarist this may be what you are thinking, when aspiring to learn guitar note and is usually the most frequently asked question of all to the guitar teacher. I know for a fact when I first was starting out to learn guitar note I wondered how in the world does the guitarist figure out in his or her mind which is the proper note to play and if that is not enough, how can I at any cost learn guitar note from a teacher that will help me achieve such mastery? My mind was whirling with tons of questions and looking for answers.

 Any budding guitarist would naturally have to get to know and master the Blues Scale which would be a mainstay of his or her desire in life adventures to learn guitar note. Guitarists need to understand that playing on the fly or soloing is not about choosing random notes hoping they turn out right but, drawing the solo from a specified scale which is used as a template with which to improvise. The Blues Scale is a scale that can be used extensively to play all kinds of guitar solos. Don't be surprised if your very first song learned is in the Blues Scale. This is usually where it all begins for even the best guitarists.

How to Master The Scale And Chords of a Guitar

You need to also learn and master all the various chords, scales, modes as well as chord constructions. For example, to learn the C scale, one should learn the eight notes that it consists of, starting with a C and ending on a C and, it is the only scale that has neither a flat nor a sharp. In addition, one needs to learn guitar note by completely understanding that major scales contain step patterns consisting of a whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, half step.  The root note is the note corresponding with the ‘key’ note of a scale and, learning the different tones is a must in developing your skills to the next desired level.

Not to menion such things you need to know like the hammer-ons as well as pull-offs that need to be practiced and skill aquired, the hammer-on is a note that is played by very quickly placing the finger down upon a higher fret after the string has previously been picked for a lower note. Conversly a pull-off note is played by pulling the left hand finger away from a string at an angle to let the fingertip pick the string while allowing a new note to sound. If this is confusing re-read the last few sentences and it will make sense trust me!

Guys and gals there is certainly a lot to learn guitar note and, one should not forget about the three chord theory or the Blues, which is the ultimate extension of the three chord theory. Other confusing issues a lot of beginners have is how to sort out the root chord, sub-dominant chord as well as the dominant chord. But we will leave that for another article.
